About

The Reply Creative Challenge is a 48-hours online team-based competition open to students and creatives from all over the world.

The aim: to answer a creative brief set by various international brands and judged by a jury of experts. Participants have to develop a creative concept for one of eight categories proposed. 

The best eight teams are invited as our guests in Milan on Jult 6th to pitch their idea during the Reply annual event, the Reply Xchange.

Participants & registrations

1. Who can take part?

The Reply Creative Challenge is an online competition open to creatives aged 18 years + (on 27th May), from all over the world.

There are two challenges: one for Replyers and one for non-Replyer professionals and students. 

 

2. Can I create a mixed team of Replyers and non-Replyers for this challenge?

No. There are two separate challenges, so this is not possible. 

 

3. Im a Replyer, to which challenge should I register?

You can have a look at the challenge designed for you here

 

4. If I register on the platform, am I registered for the competition?

No, in order to play you need to choose a category to compete in, then join a team or create your own by 26th May.

By registering on the platform, you’ll get updates on upcoming online challenges.

 

5. Which are the categories of the Creative Challenge?

6. When do I have to register for the challenge?

You can register from 19th April 2022 to 26th May 2022, 11:59 PM (CEST).

 

7. Is there a registration fee?

No, this challenge is free.

 

9. I’ve registered, but I have no teammates. What can I do?

Once you’ve registered, you can join a team or form one yourself. Be sure to be in a team formed by at least 2 people by 26th May.

 

10. Once registered, can I change my details?

To update your details at any time, log in to your profile and click “Edit profile”, or follow this link.

 

11. How do I cancel my registration?

Please send your cancellation request to challenges@reply.com.

 

12. Is it an online-only competition?

Yes.

Forming a Team

1. How can I form my team?

To form your team, log in to the Reply Challenges platform, click “Team up” and select “Create new team”. Once you’ve formed a team, you’ll see it when you log in to the platform. You can also choose a team name and invite your friends. Just enter their email addresses and send the invitation. Remember, if you’re a Replyer, you can only ask other Replyers to join your team.

 

2. How many people can be in a team?

Your team can have 2 - 4 people. The more people you have, the more chances you have to solve the problems.

You can’t play alone! Be sure to be in a team formed by at least 2 people by 26th May. You can also find your teammates in our Find your Teammate Telegram Group

 

3. I don’t want to form a team, what can I do?

No problem. You have until 11:59 PM CEST on 26th May to join someone else’s team.

4. Can I change who’s on my team before the challenge day?

No, but you are free to leave your current team. They won’t receive any notification, so remember to tell them.

 

Communications

1. How will we get updates about the Reply Creative Challenge?

You’ll get some emails before and after the challenge, so check your mailbox regularly. You can always message the Reply JUMP! Team during the challenge, via chat, if you have questions.

 

2. Which language(s) do I need to speak?

All communications are in English. However, you and your teammates can speak whatever language(s) you like! ☺

 

Reply Challenges platform

1. What browsers can I use?

The platform supports the latest versions of Chrome, Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. If you’re not sure what version you are using, you can check it here.

 

2. Something is wrong with the platform. What should I do?

Try reloading the page, then try clearing your cache and cookies. If you’re still having problems, message the Reply JUMP! Team on chat or email challenges@reply.com.

 

Training

1. Can we train for the Reply Creative Challenge?

In the Archive section, you can have a look at the past editions of the Reply Creative Challenge, discover the winning ideas and read something about them.

 

During the Reply Creative Challenge

1. When will you publish the briefs?

The brief (for each category) will be published on the platform starting from 04:30 PM (CEST) on 27th May 2022, except if there is an extension, which would be announced via the platform.

 

Each brief will detail all the information necessary to produce the related Project, such as:

• technical requirements (e.g., format, maximum file size, etc.),

• images, graphic elements, and Trademarks to be included

• evaluation criteria

 

2. How much time does each team have to submit the Project?

Teams have 48 hours to submit a Project, from 4:30 PM CEST on 27th May to 4.30 PM CEST on 29th May.

The teams will be able to submit their project as many times as they wish, but only the last submission will be evaluated.

 

3. What if we have a question?

You can message the Reply JUMP! Team, via chat.

 

Winners & prizes

1. Who wins?

At the end of the challenge, each Project, after verification of validity requirements, will be qualitatively evaluated by the Panel within 10th June.

The Panel, at incontestable discretion, will select one Project for each category and the team who submitted the Project will be one of the eight finalists.

The eight finalist teams will receive, by e-mail, the instructions to access the finals in Milan on July 6th, and all the travel details will be arranged with the organization team according to your needs. 

 

2. How does the Online Final Event work?

During Finals in Milan (July 6th) the eight finalist teams will have 10 minutes each to present their Project to the audience that will include the Panel, plus 5 minutes of Q&A if needed.

The Panel will evaluate again the Projects together with the quality of the presentation by the Team. The Team will have the possibility to explain the creative idea, how it has been developed, and to expose any useful information, respecting the 10 minutes time limit.

After all the presentations, at the incontestable discretion of the Panel, by the end of the event, Reply will communicate the BEST selected Project among the finalists.

 

3. Which are the prizes?

Each member of the winning team will win a Mac Book Pro™ 16  (Chip M1 Pro - CPU 10-core, GPU 16-core,  Neural Engine 16-core - 16GB unified memory and 552GB SSD storage) and a Wacom graphic tablet plus, a cool chance to meet Reply in Milan :) 

 

4. When will you be awarded the prizes?

We’ll send the winners details on how to claim their prizes.

 

University Students League

 

1. Whats the University Students League?

Starting from this year, you can win a prize for your university, too.

For each category of the Creative Challenge, the Jury will assign points to the 10 best teams and these points will be collected by the University of the team members.

The score that your team will get will be added to the University Leaderboard. 

 

2. Whats the prize?

A cool Reply Arcade Game cabinet for the communal areas in your university or a financial donation to support an educational or research project.

 

3. How can I participate?

You just need to tell us the name of your university right after creating a team or joining an existing one.

 

4. What about teams from different universities?

The final score of your team will count for every person on the team: if in your team there will be students from different universities the points will be added to each of those.

 

5. Im not a student anymore, can I still take part in the Univerisity Students League?

Yes, you can, the University Students League is open to Alumni too. Right after creating your team, insert the name of the university where you studied and make it win.

 

5. Im a Replyer, can I take part in the Univerisity Students League?

No, you cant, but you can take part in the Referral Programme: the more friends you bring to register, the more you win. 

Replyers edition

1. How can I join the competition as Replyer? 

Access the platform via your Tamtamy credentials and register for the internal brief

 

2.Can I register for one of the eight categories with the international brands? 

No, you cant. Replyers will take part in a separate Challenge, with one separate category. 

 

3. Are mixed team allowed? 

Replyers can only ask other Replyers to join their team. Mixed teams with non-Replyers are not allowed.

JUMP! team & Fair Play

1. Who is the JUMP! team?

The JUMP! team wrote the briefs and is responsible for enforcing all challenge rules. They’ll review the Projects from teams and award prizes. They may exclude any participants or teams at any time for breaching competition rules.

 

2. What do we do if someone’s cheating or behaving badly?

We want to make training sessions and the challenge fair for everyone. So never stop others from taking part – for instance, by overloading the challenge platform, or sending files containing malware, viruses, or other code intended to interrupt, destroy or limit the operation of the platform, software, hardware, or telecoms equipment. This will result in instant disqualification. If you’ve spotted any cheating or unfair behavior, email challenges@reply.com.
 

Traffic is monitored by Reply. Do not disturb or distract members from other teams. You’re not allowed to receive any external help or support.

Registrations, participants & teams

Registrations are open until 26th May 2022 at 11.59 PM CEST.

This is an online challenge for players aged 18 or over, on the day of the Challenge. 
Participants must be in a team. Teams can have two, three, or four people, but this can’t change once the registrations are closed.

Participants can’t play alone! Teams must be formed by at least 2 people.


During the registration phase, you have to choose one of the challenge categories, create a team or ask to join an existing one. You can team up or change your team between 19th April 2022 and 26th May 2022 – 11:59 PM CEST. Enrolment after this deadline won’t be accepted, except if there’s an extension, which would be announced via the platform.

 

Challenge Platform

Your team will submit the idea, according to the format specified in the brief, through Reply’s challenge platform.

 

Categories

The eight categories of the Reply Creative Challenge are:

 


The brief will be in English and will be published on the platform starting from 4:30 PM CEST on 27th May 2022.
The brief will detail all the information necessary to produce the related Project, including technical features (e.g., format, maximum file size, etc.) and the evaluation criteria.

 

Submissions

Your project must be submitted within 29th May 2022 – 4:30 PM CEST, after which the platform will no longer accept any uploads. For the whole duration of the challenge, it will be possible to send a request to the Reply Jump! Team through the chat feature offered by the platform in case of doubts, questions, or need of support.


By June 10th, 2022 the Jury members will select the eight finalists

Each team that has reached the final will be informed by email and will receive all the details about the Finals in Milan on July 6th.

 

Online Final Event

 

The finals will take place on 6th July 2022 in Milan, except in case of force majeure.

The eight confirmed finalist teams will receive, by e-mail, the instructions to access the finals and all the travels details will be arranged by the Reply Xchange Organization Team. 

 

During the finals, the eight teams will have 10 minutes each to present their Project to the audience that will include the Panel, plus 5 minutes of final Q&A if needed.

The Panel will evaluate again the Project with a focus on the quality of the presentation: each Team will have the possibility to explain the creative idea, how it has been developed, and expose any useful information, respecting the 10 minutes time limit.

 

After all the presentations, at the incontestable discretion of the Panel, by the end of the event, Reply will communicate the BEST selected Project among the finalists.

 

Deliverables

The brief, published on your team page on the first day of the challenge (on 27th May), will contain all the details about the requirements, the format to use, and the evaluation criteria the Jury members will take into account. The Project and the material must be written in English.

Requests for clarification and communication in the team

You can ask for clarification to the Reply Jump! Team during the challenge via chat. Each member can chat with other team members via chat or hangouts.

Prizes

University Students League

By playing the Creative Challenge, you can win a prize for your university, too. To join the University Students League you must tell us the name of your university, right after the creation of your team. 

For each category of the Creative Challenge, the Jury will assign points to the 10 best teams (according to the table below) and these points will be collected by the University of the team members.

At the end of the Challenge, the university with the most points wins a Reply Arcade Game for its communal area. Or it can choose to receive a financial donation to support an educational or research project.

The University Students League is open to Alumni too. Right after creating your team, insert the name of the university where you studied and make it win.

 

Replyers Edition

Replyers will take part in a separate Challenge, with one separate category. There will be a Replyers winning team.

Replyers can only ask other Replyers to join their team. Mixed teams with non-Replyers are not allowed.

Fair Play

We expect every team to have a positive attitude during the contest. No team should prevent other teams from taking part – for instance, by trying to overload the challenge platform, saturating the local Wi-Fi, or interfering with devices of other Replyers. This will lead to disqualification. Similarly, do not try to disturb or distract members from other teams.

Intellectual Property

Your ideas belong to you and the overall rights are reserved. Reply will not be the owner of your projects, except for the winning team: each member of the team will win a MacBook Pro and a Wacom Tablet and Reply will become the owner of the winning idea, as stated in the Terms & Conditions.
